As Cholera Crisis Surges in Haiti, the UN Asks for More Money

With cases of cholera in Haiti rising into the tens of thousands, and at least 800 known deaths, the United Nations has begun a $164 million appeal to deal with the crisis. About $89 million of that is needed for water purification and distribution alone, according to the Office of the Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs.
